The Katie Weatherston Hockey School focuses solely on female development. Katie believes it is crutial for players to get 1 on 1 attention/instruction. Our large staff pays attention to technical details and we have a low player to coach ratio (4:1). The Katie Weatherston Hockey School provides female hockey players with the tools they need to improve their skills and raise awareness of the opportunities that are available to women through sport. Founded in 2005, our goal is to offer the players a well organized, fun, and educational camp at a low cost.
On-Ice Instruction:
Power skating, stick handling, passing, shooting, checking, puck protection, and skill stations.
*Goalie's will have a goalie coach on the ice at all times working with them and there are only 3 goalies on ice per session.
Off-Ice Instruction:
Proper warm-up/cool down, plyometrics, skating imitations & slide board, resistance training, goal setting, nutrition, chalk talk, agility, strength, speed, balance, core, stick handling, shooting, circuit training, and a motivational talk with Katie and pictures with the gold medals and the 2010 Olympic Torch!
*Camps focus on the fundamental skills of hockey and are open to all skills levels. We group players according to skill level and age. Each session is geared towards individual instruction and each player is coached/pushed to their individual skill level. The Off-ice sessions includes a majority of the National Team's off-ice training program!
