Katie bought her first home at the young age of 23. Katie was a proud home owner and owning at such a young age made her feel like she was getting ahead of those renting. In 25 years, she would be mortgage free. Katie wanted to help other young people get a head start and she became a Sales Representative at Royal Lepage Performance Realty Inc., Brokerage in 2009. Katie then worked for 2 years at HomeLife Capital Realty Inc, Brokerage and is now currently a Sales Representative at Details Realty Inc., Brokerage.
Katie works with a variety of clients. She has sold many homes in the Ottawa area as well as works with Buyers and Investors. Katie has 5 income properties herself and is very knowleable about current cap rates in Ottawa as well as how to be a successful Landlor and property manager.
Katie is a strong negotiatior. She uses current market information to drive her negotiations and always makes sure her clients get a fair price. Katie is a very hard worker, honest, loyal, and professional when working with her clients. She also does not take on too many clients at once so you will get the attention you need and deserve as buying or selling a home is one of the biggest decisions of someone's life!
Katie started her national team career as a soccer player with the U-19 team; however in 2001 she chose to leave the sport of soccer in order to pursue her dream of playing hockey. Being selected as part of the prestigious Under-22 team in 2003 and 2004, Katie helped Canada win gold both years at the Air Canada Cup held in Germany.
Katie continued to progress and became a member of the women’s national team in 2004. She has won gold medals at three Four Nations Cup tournaments (2004, 2005, & 2007), as well as a gold medal at the 2006 Olympics in Turin, Italy. At the Olympic tournament, Katie tallied 4 goals and 1 assist, the most notable point being the game winning goal in the semi-final victory over Finland. She has also won a gold medal at the 2007 World Championships, which was held in Winnipeg, Manitoba. In 2008, Katie travelled to Harbin, China where she won a silver medal in the World Championships. On January 3 rd, 2010 Katie had the honor of carrying the Olympic Torch in her hometown of Thunder Bay.
In 2007, Katie graduated from Dartmouth College, an Ivy League Institution in Hanover, N.H. In her four years at Dartmouth, Katie earned a B.A. in Psychology and is a certified elementary teacher. Katie is also the owner and head instructor of the Katie Weatherston Hockey School, an all-girls hockey school which she founded in 2005.
Katie has also been a motivational speaker in over 550 schools across Canada and has also been the keynote speaker at various events.
Katie resides in Ottawa in Wellington Village. She loves working with children and enjoys spending her free time fishing or with her family at her family cottage up in Thunder Bay, ON.
