The Katie Weatherston Hockey School provides the tools needed to improve skills and raise awareness of opportunities available to both girls and boys through sport. Founded in 2005, our goal is to offer players and goalies a well-organized, fun, and educational camp at an affordable cost. Our low player to coach ratio creates an optimal environment for development. Due to Covid-19 our 2020 programming will have major changes. Only on-ice sessions will be offered with a maximum of 16 players + 2-3 coaches. Social distancing guidelines will be followed on the ice and no battle drills or contact drills will be allowed.
On-Ice Instruction (1.5 hours / session):
Our sessions focus on teaching individual technique: Forwards/backwards stride, edges, change of speed, stops, starts, crossovers, agility skating, shooting, stick handling, passing (all while maintaining 2m distance apart from each other on the ice)
*Sessions are open to all players who can skate at the level needed prior to starting hockey (must be able to skate and stop one way). We group players according to skill level and age. Each session is geared towards individual instruction and each player is coached/pushed to their individual skill level.
*** COVID-19 WAIVER MUST BE SIGNED PRIOR TO ALL ICE SESSIONS ***
