  • Great Camp

My daughter KJ attended your camp and I just wanted to say what an awesome experience it was for her. Her skills and her confidence have increased immeasurably and the enthusiasm that she came home with is bound to lead to even more gains. She is already mentioning that she can't wait for the season to begin!

All and all, a very positive experience for us, great coaches, great drills, tons of fun. Your personal touch is very much in evidence and adds a great deal to the experience.

Looking forward to seeing you next year!

  • Thanks for a Great Experience!

This is the first “Katie Weatherston” hockey camp my daughters, Sarah (12)  and Emily (10) have attended. They have been to many different hockey camps over the years, but the girls both said “It was the best hockey camp  ever”. Sarah said that the camp was “very well organized and had very good discipline”.  The second day, Sarah asked to switch groups and you listened to her concern and addressed the manner quite nicely. Thank you, for listening and handling it. We will definitely sign the kids up for future camps.  Once again, thank you, for you and your team’s hard work in making the camp a truly enjoyable and rewarding camp for our daughters!

  • Awesome Camp!!!

Katie, I wanted to let you know how glad and excited I am that Carleigh attended your hockey school!  It was an awesome experience for her, she loved it!!  I was extremely impressed with your school as a whole and the personal attention you were giving to the students.  I could really tell that you love what you do.  Your staff was excellent as well, there were very enthusiastic about helping the girls.  The numerous skills stations you had setup was fantastic, it allowed the girls to keep moving, no one was standing around for long periods of time waiting.  With your teaching style and camp structure it makes your camp the best around.

Carleigh really enjoyed it and definitely absorbed a lot of what you were teaching.  She told me about numerous things she had learned.  The first thing Carleigh asked me when I picked her up from the last day of your camp was "when can I go to Katie's camp again?"  Carleigh will see you soon.  Thank you!!!

  • Thanks for the Battle Drills!

Katie, Thank you and your staff for a great few days! My daughter was excited about the session on battles in the corners! Earlier this week, Ainsley's team played the first place team in her division and low and behold, she won every battle in the corners! Her level of confidence was evident and she wasn't hesitant about what to do and how to do it! Thanks for a great camp.

  • Absolutely outstanding.

For any parent who's ever invested money in a hockey camp only to feel like they did not get what they paid for, this is the camp you're looking for.  Simply put, Katie Weatherston offers a first-class hockey program geared towards not only improving the player's skillset, but also towards teaching them self-discipline, while generally boosting their self-confidence.  It is unlike any other program I've yet seen.  Katie's as focused on the kids having fun as she is providing the utomost value for the money invested, pushing everyone to give it their all - beyond their comfort zones - from the moment they walk into the rink, to the moment they go home (she's often even pushing her team of instructors on the ice to work harder!! How awesome is that!?!) There is not much more you can ask from a hockey program!

Thank you Katie.  Thank you for your dedication to the kids and for your utmost professionalism.  My daughter has improved so much; in her skating and stick handling, but most importantly, in her self-confidence and demonstration of leadership qualities.  You've made a lasting impression on us all (my daughter is still referencing your name when explaining why certain things are supposed to be done the way they are in hockey - it's because "Katie said!!") and we will most certainly be signing up for more camps to come.  As far as I'm concerned, you get another gold medal for offering a superior prorgam that is clearly a cut above.

  • Thunder Bay Girl's Hockey Camp

Posted By Sandra Lappage on 8/22/2015 9:22:56 AM

    Hi Katie,

I just wanted to thank you for the wonderful time my granddaughters had at your hockey camp. I had five children who played hockey and we attended many hockey camps over the years and yours definitely was the best camp that I have ever seen.

Your camp is very organized and you had so many assistants that helped keep everything moving at a steady pace, there was definitely no standing around. In fact, my granddaughter said I hope she isn't so organized tomorrow so we can have a bit of a rest.

I was amazed at how much time you had to spend helping each child as you went from station to station. My grandduaghter said it was great how you taught them how to execute the skill and then one of your helpers would explain how you would usee skill in a game.

They are pretty sure that they are going to be able to stick handle through the whole opposing team and use one of your famous back hand flip shots to score goals this coming season.

They really appreciated you sharing your life story and the difficulties you went through to get to be a gold medal winner.

You definitely kept an eye on everything, whether it was a sick or injured girl on the bench, or an assistant who wasn't executing the skill properly, or a skater who needed some extra help, I was very impressed at how you kept on top of everything with an eagle eye!

It was well worth our trip to Thunder Bay for this hockey school and the girls learned so many new skills.

For me, it was an added bonus to meet and talk to your Mom, what a wonderful woman.

    Thank you again for everything.

  • Thank you Katie!

Your hockey camp is fantastic!  I love the attention to detail with each and every girl in the camp.  So many instructors on the ice not only making sure the girls are doing the drills, but correcting them so they are doing them right!  You are an amazing role model and I love that the off ice activities are still related to hockey.

  • Great Experience

Posted By John Northey on 1/14/2016 10:05:49 PM

My daughter took this camp and the following season was #2 in scoring on a mixed team.  The following year she felt she needed the summer off and was unable to make a travel team but once she warmed up she has led her team in scoring and now is regularly referred to as the best player on the team with parents on the travel team wondering why she isn't on that team.  She plans to go to camp in 2016 to ensure she makes the travel team next season.

  • Fun & Skills! Thank-you Katie!

Thank-you Katie, Lily loved your camp and is looking froward to the next ones!! Lily mentionned the highlights of the camp she loved learning the on ice skills to win faceoffs, plus your awesome videos of the day with music & the off ice cool challenges like the parachute running! You are a true trailblazer for our girls Hockey, Thank-you for your dedication and in providing this wonderful experience and environment.

  • Camp and Speaking

    Katie

my daughters 11 and 7 attended a two day camp with you in Fort Frances. You had them working hard and they enjoyed it. My oldest responds better to women coaches than men. You held me accountable for the tape on the sticks being wrong which was great.  I also got to see your motivational speech in the school too. Keep doing what your doing. You are reaching these kids. Thank you.
